Eric Horman took this big bull moose in Idaho in 2001. The bull net scores 164 5/8 and is 42 inches wide.
Eric writes, "I hunted almost every day for 5 weeks before harvesting this bull. I actually video taped this bull 6 days earlier. I was mentally adding up his score when he ran off with the cow and calf he was with. I was kicking myself for messing around with my camcorder and trying to figure out his score instead of shooting him. I couldn't locate him the rest of that day. I went out the next 4 days straight and could not find him again. I thought that someone else may have already harvested this bull when, finally, on Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, I found him at first light. One shot with a 180 gr. Nosler Partition handload from my Winchester .300 Win. Mag. was all it took. I had packed my muzzleloader for most of the season, but didn't have it that day. Too bad, he would rank in the top 3 all time in the Long Hunter Society Muzzleloading record book."
