Jared Bloomgren writes, "I went out rifle hunting to try and fill my South Dakota West River Tag. I spent the 17th watching 6 shooter bucks and could not make up my mind about which buck I wanted. I watched as all the bucks cruised around checking does and breeding when they were inclined to let them do so. These 6 bucks kept the younger bucks in check and most of the 6 at one point in the day met up with each other and exchanged aggresive gestures. I have come to know all the bucks well and Nicknamed them all......"High Tower, Splitter, Whitey, Grumpy, Five-O, and Four Score." All were great bucks, but one of them stood out to be the oldest most mature of them all, "High Tower." I named him that because of the tall brow tine that he has.

After passing on him three other times, I couldn't hold off any longer when he closed the distance to 125 yards and I intruduced him to Mr. .270. "High Tower" ran only 50 yards before expiring. He is a very old buck with exceptional mass and is well past his prime. 140 inches."
