These two beautiful bears were taken by Ian Baird. Ian took the bear in the upper photo while hunting in British Columbia. He shot it at 15 yards with his 30-06.
The bear in the lower photo, he took with his bow. It was his first animal with a stick-n-string!
Ian writes, "The bear spotted me from 100 yards away and I thought I had blown it, so I threw my bow on my head and started grunting like a moose. Unbelievably, this immediately peaked the bears interest and he started running towards me. I continued to grunt, shake my head with my bow on it (like antlers) and eventually after following the bear through the trees for 45 min. and having him bluff charge me twice he finally made a mistake and gave me a perfect broadside shot. My arrow went right through both lungs and out the other side and he piled up not 30 yards from where I shot him. Even though I have bagged several nice animals over the past 10 years that I have been hunting, I must say this was the highlight of my hunting life....I am truly HOOKED ON BOWHUNTING!"
