Scott Brisson writes, "Luck finally came my way in Colorado in 2005. I took this nice 4x4 mule deer on my own property during the 3rd season. I passed on no less than 25 bucks during this hunt, but I had my mind set on a 4x4 or better. After 15 years of taking people hunting in Colorado, I finally got my chance. This nice buck was traveling with about 15 does when we glassed him at 700 yards, just moments after seeing him his big brother showed up. The bigger buck didn’t stick around and was back in the woods where he felt safe. He was much bigger and I will seek him out in coming years.
The buck I shot fit all my requirements, so I was just as happy to take him as I would have been to have shot the big boy. It took about 45 minutes for him to follow the does right under my set up and at 250 yards I let him have it. The best part this hunt is that I got to share the whole thing with my brother-in-law, he was right there watching through his binoculars as it unfolded.
The only thing that would have made it better, would have been him shooting instead of me."
